Teach Growth and Development

  • By the end of this workshop, teachers will be able to identify the key elements of an inquiry cycle and know how to apply them in various contexts, design inquiry activities that are relevant, meaningful and challenging, and be ready to facilitate inquiry-based learning in their classrooms using effective questioning, feedback, and assessment strategies.

  • Collaboration skills are sought after in the workplace, and considered an essential 21st century necessity, yet we seldom consider how to explicitly prepare students for these highly desirable skills. In this workshop you will understand the difference between collaboration and jigsaw work, explore models of collaboration that eliminate many of the typical pitfalls, and experience the power of Design Thinking.

  • This session focuses on the tools needed to resolve the unfinished literacy we see in middle and high school students. Through provocative discussion on the research, participants will (re)discover tools they can put into practice immediately.

  • Explore the importance of a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and learn activities and techniques you can implement immediately. Consider the impact of lived experience and culture on the learning environment for both teacher and student, and experience best practice tools that benefit every learner.
